Faces of China

For two weeks I got the chance to visit three friends in China.  Getting to visit Li Ping, Xi’an, Guyang, Guilin, Hangzhou, and Shanghai gave me some amazing stories, and amazing photos.  The people living in China where so nice, and every time I took a photo of a person, they invited me into their homes to eat and share life together.  This trip was an eye opening, and was such an interesting time seeing other cultures and how they live life. NCAA Division II Champions return to Western Washington’s campus

March 25th, 2012

Western Washington’s Basketball Team returned to Western’s campus on Sunday, March 25, with the NCAA Division II trophy in hand. Over 100 people gathered to welcome the championship team back into Bellingham.

Vikings claim NCAA II West Regional title

March 12th, 2012

The Vikings took the NCAA II West Regional title with 56-50 against Seattle Pacific University and advanced to the NCAA II Elite Eight for the first time since 2001 on Monday, March 12, at Sam Carver Gymnasium. Junior guard John Allen was named regional tournament Most Valuable Player and scored a game-high of 16 points. Senior forward Zack Henifin scored 11 points and senior forward Rory Blanche scored 10.

Vikings advance to Regional Championship

Vikings won 74-65 against Chico State University on Saturday, March 10, at Sam Carver Gymnasium. The Vikings advanced to the NCAA DII West Regional Championship on Monday, March 12, at 7 p.m.

Viking victory pushes team to semifinals

March 9th, 2012

The Vikings won 79-73 against Grand Canyon University in NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament on Friday, March 9, at Sam Carver Gymnasium. The Vikings move on to play in the semifinals on Saturday, March 10, at 7 p.m.

Vikings claim win against Montana State Billings

After being down during the first half, the Vikings fought back to take a 98-83 win against Montana State University Billings on Saturday, Feb. 25, in Sam Carver Gymnasium.

Vikings snag narrow win against SPU

February 24th, 2012

Vikings stole the win with 72-70 against Seattle Pacific University on Thursday, Feb. 23, at Sam Carver Gymnasium. The win placed the Vikings in first place in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular-season standings.

The sun sets Chuckanut drive in an orange glow on Wednesday, Feb. 22. The weather forecast has reported that the rain should stay away for another day or two, leading to more beautiful sunsets on Bellingham's bay.

Vikings win battle against Central

February 18th, 2012

Vikings fought for a 75-64 win against arch-rival Central Washington University on Saturday, Feb. 18, in Sam Carver Gymnasium. Guard Corinn Waltrip led the Vikings with a game-high of 15 points. The win was the last college home game for senior forward Kristin Schramm.
