Geary earns co-player of the week award

The Western Washington University volleyball team continues to roll with a 4-match win streak and junior outside hitter Marlayna Geary has been one of the reasons for their success.  She was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Co-Player of the Week for Oct. 30- Nov. 5, according to Western’s Athletics website. Geary shared the week’s honor with University of Alaska Anchorage middle blocker Robyn Burton.

(10/15) WWU libero reaches milestone in WOU win.

Volleyball crushed Western Oregon Thursday night in three sets.

Western libero Allison Gotz reached the 1,500 dig mark for her carrier, finishing the match with 25 digs. Gotz was just the second person to reach 1,500 digs.

The first person was Courtney Schneider, who reached the milestone during the time when college volleyball played games to 30 points, not 25 like it is today.
